Kingsley Slams 5 Years of New Year's Eve Celebration Failures

"Ken Livingstone is, officially, a party pooper," says Jennifer Kingsley, the Liberal Democrats' Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Kensington and Chelsea. Councillor Kingsley was reacting to a report by Lib Dem GLA colleagues about Ken Livingstone's failure to organise New Year's Eve celebrations for Londoners
The Lib Dem GLA report highlights the inability of the Mayor to publicise a public event for this year and past years - despite the £1 million of taxpayers money allocated for celebrations The report also looks at the success of other cities' celebrations across the world for tourists, residents and television viewers.
Jennifer Kingsley commented:
"Year upon year, Mr. Livingstone tells taxpayers we must pay for celebrations from which we are excluded - literally left out in the cold. This year, there have not been any announcements about the party so we must all assume we're not invited. Why is the Mayor being such a party pooper when so many major world cities announce their New Year's Eve events months in advance?"
The Lib Dem report proposes a series of recommendations, including the introduction of a ticketed party in Trafalgar Square.
