Michael Howard Admits: Tories Would Have Waged Illegal War

On Thursday's edition of Question Time on BBC 1 which saw Blair sweat, Kennedy cheered and Howard jeered, the Tory Leader said that he would have gone to war in Iraq even if had known Saddam Hussein had possessed no weapons of mass destruction. He called the policy "regime change plus". Jenny Kingsley expressed her disbelief: "The inevitable consequence of the latest Tory position on Iraq is that they would have been prepared to wage an illegal war against Iraq."
Kingsley, the Lib Dem Candidate for Kensington & Chelsea, continued: "Military action with the purpose of regime change is illegal, as the Attorney-General acknowledged in his opinion of 7th March.
"On the issue of Iraq there is nothing to choose between Labour and the Conservatives. Both of them have massive trust and credibility issues. Only the Lib Dems stood firm with a principled stance against the war."
